Well, I suppose the name of this comm is somewhat outdated, but the content isn't-- here we are again, talking about federation. Curious if anyone here has thoughts on
mark's recent post in the DW github issues section:
Tumblr (time is a flat circle) is apparently considering some level of activitypub implementation, so-- is a world of interoperability between DW, Tumblr, and Mastodon in sight?

Hi all -- Denise and I (co-owners) talked through the idea and at this point, we're in favor of supporting AP/fediverse connections, with the constraints that:
It must be opt-in for our users ("I choose to be part of the fediverse, people may message me/ping me/syndicate my public content")
We will only export public content (unless you choose to DM someone else in the 'verse, which I guess is technically non-public)
There may be some other constraints that we'll have to think through as someone gets down to implementation, but this should be enough to start with and probably realizes a lot of the value.
We're not committing to building it ourselves at the moment (asmomijizukamori said, we don't have a ton of developer volunteers at the moment), but if someone wants to do so we'd be happy to support!
